I am about to have a 55g tank empty. I want to put piranhas in it. Should I get red bellies or Wimples?

I would go with the Reds. Nate has Wimples right now so he can give a better overview of the 2.

from what i have seen in the two in my own tanks..............................

if you want a better active and less skittish tank, wimples are the choice

if you want more lethal killer reds are the choice

you could keep several wimples when you could only keep maybe 4 reds for life

as frank said.... wimples will slowly kill of each other when adult size (5"+) i would go for reds. i had 2 wimples before and they dont call them wimples for nothing.

if you want a piranha, you have to get reds. wimples aren't really piranhas. hell even if you dont want a piranha, you should still get the reds.
