The following is a follow up to a local story in the Charleston area that i had posted on before....This letter was personal adressed to all of the cadets of the citadel which make up a large share of Wild Wings business.

"I had heard about this from one of my fellow Marines a few weeks ago. I
didn't want to spread bad rumors. We all have the right to free speech.
Debate the war, but support our troops. Remember, "We all vote with our
wallets."

I have been holding out on sending out this e-mail until I had
all the facts verified. I now know this story to be 100% true. Wild Wings is
a restaurant in Hilton Head. They have restaurants in Charleston SC,
Mt.Pleasant SC, Marietta GA, Athens GA, Charlottesville VA, and Greenville
SC as well. Also, they are preparing to go national. Last weekend (the
weekend of March 22, 2003), five Marines from the Beaufort air station went
to Wild Wings as numerous Marines frequently do on the weekends. This time,
they were asked to leave. They were not drunk. One of them does not drink at
all, and the others had not started drinking yet. When asked
why they had to leave, the response was "We do not support the war, and your
presence here is a disruption." I heard this last week, and have been biting
my tongue until I could verify this. I have not only verified this 100% with
one of the Marines I have known for a couple of years, but the story has
grown. Word of mouth spread the story quickly on this island as well as the
local military bases. One of the civilian employees of the Beaufort Air
Station called the local radio station and the DJ broadcast the story.
Needless to say, business was off at Wild Wings last week. What might the
owners response have been? Would they apologize? NO! In fact, they did the
opposite. They called the CO of the Beaufort Air Station demanding an apology
from the Marines for causing their business to drop by spreading this story!
The CO decided that Wild Wings did not deserve an apology. Nor did it deserve
any more Marine dollars. Wild Wings is now off limits ! to the Marines of
Beaufort Air Station. I have always been very wary of spreading stories I
heard on the internet. However, I know this one to be true. I heard it from
the source. There are people out there who do not support this war. I am well
aware of that. However, if you do not support the members of our military,
you do not deserve the freedoms they fight to protect. You do not deserve to
run a business in this country. You do not deserve to profit in this country.
And, since without our military you would not have freedom of speech, you do
not deserve to express an opinion in this country. I hope that each of you
will consider this story before you spend one dime in a Wild Wings
establishment. "

The sad truth is, I bet if they had a restaurant here a few weeks ago in San Francisco, I bet they would of made a lot of money with the protesters. Seems like theyre just a restaurant chain over on the other side of this country. I agree with you BDKing...

However, if you do not support the members of our military,

If your talking about the restaurant making money off this then Im pretty sure you would be wrong. If the military declares a local spot "off limits" then it is off limits to all military personel. No questions asked and just imagine how hard it would be for anybody to file a lawsuit against the Marine Corps or any branch of military.

As for the owners of this crappy establishment, the main reason he or she opened this business in this area is more likely to make money off the Marines. Beleive me I know first hand. A lot of the towns surrounding military bases around the world depend on the Marines to spend the most money at there place of business. Military personel spend the most money in these small towns. True, not too many people surrounding military bases like the military cause of all the trouble they get in, in town, but nonetheless, at a time like this WHY THE f*ck would any prick turn away his most profitable customers, and more impportantly men and women who fight and protect this great country of ours by risking there lifes when duty call upon them.

Sorry folks got a lil carried away, but thats how I feel!

Good to know, yeah if they were on the westside I would spread the word about how shitty they have treated the marines, I know a lot of marines from here that are over there I know have something to tell them hehehe. They will prolly end up apologizing to boost their business, once something like this happens it is hard to pull your business out, bad business move and it is bullshit that they do not support the troops.

The actions of few do not represent us as a whole! Not ALL Americans are like the activist in this country. I mean you cant really judge us for what happened. Its the South what do you expect? If they went to Texas that would be even worse given the fact that its our president 's home state. But Im sure the same discrimination would probably happen if an American went into Canada or in any other country as a matter of fact. There will always be discrimination wherever you go so to single out the US it wouldnt be right.

You dont want us to stereotype you guys for being Canadians yet look at what your doing to us [Americans]. Ever heard of the famous saying, "Do on to others as you would have them do on to you"? It works both ways. As for the music business, it is better for stars to keep their mouths shut and save their @$$es or else they'll end up paying the price. And as shows, the Dixie Chicks paid the price. However I believe if your going to enjoy the rights this country fought for to give to you and is continually fighting for that right...you better not bash it while your overseas, or anywhere at all. I mean I find it ironic how you can reep in this country's benefits and yet go and bash it. Talk is plain and simple talk, it wont get you anywhere unless you take it up in action. Did she do that? No! She just stated an opinion that was against our president and if its against out president then technically its against our country. She got what she deserved. She knew how people were feeling and she went and said it anyway. Its not like she didnt know it would stir up controversy.
