I Just Finished Working On My DIY Wet/Dry For A 240 Gallon Tank I'll Be building This Summer. I Need To Know What Brand Of Pump To Use And What's The Most Reliable...

Option A) Tetra DynaTec 1500 Water Garden Pump
Option B) Mag-Drive Supreme 24 2400 GPH Pump
Option C) ?????
Option D) ?????
Option E) ?????
Option F) ?????
Option G) ?????

I use a QuietOne 6000 (I think thats the model, its like 1500gph) and it's been very reliable on my 180. I dont know if you need more flow, they may make higher power ones, just thought I'd put my 2c in on brands.

I also have heard good things about dolphin brand pumps.

hand down for me is the mag-drive surpreme. i use them all the time .

No.. as long as its submerged in your tank, where water isn't seeping thru the pump, then its very quiet. The water going back into the tank would be fairly noisier, just like water pouring down into the tank from an external filter.

that's no problem, I enjoy that sound, just not a locamotive tearing through my neighborhood

I am using 2 mag drive pumps ( a 950, and a 350) I am quite happy with them.

The overflow is ALL I hear unless I put my ear against the stand, then I can hear the hum.
