The only difference between the two is that the 175 has more bio balls, larger sump and pumps around 700 gph compared to 450. It will be on a heavily stocked 125. So i just get the aqua clear 125 wetdry or go with the 175?

The bigger wet/dry the better. I have a 220g and my wet/dry is 52g tank. Get the 175.

I agree with M...on my 80 gallon I have a wet/dry rated for a 125 gallon tank and for my 180 when it gets here I have a wet/dry rated at 250 gallons waitin for it.

well you can save money and buy the 75g model, then use cell pore media, and it would be superior to all models with bio balls, then use a drill to enlarge the holes in the drip plate, thats what restricts these filters to low flow rates, you may need to add another connection to the lid so you can use two drain lines though, these mods are very easy though
