I have several videos I would like to put on the net of my fish. I was wondering what is the best way to make it a smaller file, I understand trimming out all the useless parts and all, but what type of file is best, frame rates, compressions, etc, etc should I use?

For simple web movies, I do my editing in iMovie and then export via Quicktime to MPEG4 for web use. This seems to offer the best quality/compression tradeoff. Audio quality is superior (though it doesn't matter for tank movies)

Imovie is a nice tool if you use MAC, if you are having a PC you can use fex. Pinnacle Software Studio 7/8.

I have the trial to Pinnacle 8 and I have Ulead video studio 7

I probably will not put sound on them because it adds size, thanks for the links

what is considered a good size for a video, in MB

or in other words what should I limit them too?

It depends on the length, but i like to make videos with quality enough so you can run in "full screen" mode. Since many people now have broadband, DSL, cable or similuar as internet connection videos under 10 Megs are fine and less than 2 mins...
