Yeah, to clarify...
"Sounds about right" for tapwater.

In the tank, I like to see that pH a little bit lower, but that usually happens naturally in the tank, especially if bogwood, driftwood, plants and other organic "Items" are present.

7.2 pH isn't gonna "Hurt" your fish, but I like it right around 6.2-6.6 personally.

Gotcha I was just curious as to what it was considered good to be for tap water. Thanks for the replies.

Most tapwater is slightly higher than neutral.
7.2-7.6 is average for tapwater.

Unacceptable IMO for piranha tanks.
That's where peat pellets come in.
