why is the suggested wet dry turnover rate less than the turnover rate of other types of filtration?

it depends on a few things, how effecient your water mixing is in the tank, and how many fish you have in the tank
somewhere between 5 and 8 is plenty though, since wet drys do a much better job they dont need high turnover rates
