Well since we are on the topic of War recently, would you consider electro magnetic bombs a weapon of mass destruction if they were capable of whipping computer memory clean and disrupting all commerce and industry. The implications of such a weapon used on New York City would have far greater global consequences then the bombing of a city with nuclear weapons. The amount of life that a depression claims is unreal and many times greater then the million or so claimed by a nuke.

what you are talking about is actually true. It is called the harp, and is under detroit michigan, and in alaska. Can not say how I know this. But this is public knowledge.

Agree, and therefore he needs to be punished (ie. killed

), but that does not give the US and its allies Carte Blanche to drop just about anything on Iraq once the war starts.
To me, all weapons that can caused huge devastation (no matter wheter it's in human lifes, structural damage or both, economic damage) should be banned. Not just for rogue nations, but for all nations

The ones that pay the price are always the ones that do not have any influence on current events and policy, and have to suffer the consequences world leaders (of any country) make, sitting perfectly safe in their comfortable surroundings......

Im just trying to make the point that it is unethical to use such a weapon because you can essential destroy the personal lives of billions of people world wide. Think about entire life savings and investments whipped from exsitence. Focus people!

BD - My vote is that it is a WMD. I feel that anything that has widespread effect on civilians is a WMD. Your topic actually VERY interesting though as to what exactly the definition of a WMD is?!!? Nobody really knows. If "widespread civilian effect" is the definition of a WMD, wouldnt landmines be put into this category!?!? I dont know. It is a topic of debate.

I cant imagine what our gov't has in development right now....I bet its some scary stuff.

The head of the US Naval Submarine Department told us that this new electrical propulsion system is now in development. To desribe its purpose briefly, the sub would have certain energy cells that would be able to be directed to particular areas of the sub for use, i.e. propulsion or weapons sytems. Subs would shift all their power from propulsion to fire the new plasma and electrical weapons that are in devolpment that would use tremendous amounts of energy. I wish I had a copy of this guys speech, it was way out there. He said all of this would be realized within the near future.

It's not a weapon of mass destruction. It does a lot of damage, but that is not the same thing. Knocking out electronics is a legitimate military tactic and it's done in a way that doesn't blow people up. Sounds like it's a better idea than dropping conventional bombs on people. Unless I'm thinking of a different type of weapon?

Im not for that, i dont want to put our people in harms way. i rather drop 100-400 21,000 lbs bombs and turn it into a larger carbet bomb.

BTW: he do have plasma guns and rail guns. The plasma gun shoots a laser i blive at 16,000 degree's and well anyway, thats hot enutt to cut a human in half.

They use them now to cut super thick steel and other hard metals. but put it on a human and .. well .. ouch.
