Hi All

Ok I did a water test with a new test kit yesterday but the test kit did not say what results I should get so can someone tell me if any of these are dangerous or wrong etc and let me know what they should be?

PH 8.0
Total Alkalinity 120 ppm
Total Hardness 150 ppm
Nitrite 0 NO2 ppm
Nitrate 60 NO2 ppm

Thanks for looking

Thanks EMJay

So does that mean that mine are all ok, or is there anything there that I should be a little concerned about?

Thanks

Everything is fine. For the most part, unless people are dealing with very sensitive fish, they should just leave the water alone.
My ph is high also and I have never lost a fish.
The only thing i would do is try to keep the nitrAtes under 40 with water changes. If you do 20-30% changes every week it should be fine.

i dont know how or why nitrAtes rapidly increase but they do. try to keep them under 40ppm.

and your PH is high, but these aren't sessitive fish were dealign with here, P's are hardy fish, AND as long as the PH is consistant you have nothign to worry about. you'll need to worry when your ph is changing every other day. its better to have stable water then constantly changing it, then the P's get more stressed.
do little water changes, one at a time
