I just visited Prof. Antonio Machado-Allison, the Venezuelan piranha expert
!

Machado-Allison and Prof. William L. Fink (both true piranha experts) wrote "Los Peces Caribes de Venezuela" ("Venezuelan Piranhas"), one of the most important works about these fish species.

They also described the following piranha species: Pristobrycon maculipinnis (1992), Pristobrycon careospinus (1992), Serrasalmus gouldingi (1992), Serrasalmus neveriensis (1993) and Serrasalmus hastatus (2001). They are working on a new Venezuelan piranha species yet undescribed.

Here is a link to the file on OPEFE with lot of great pics: http://www.opefe.com/antonio_machado.html
