i've spotted species profiles that recomend varying diets with vegetables.

does this mean actually placing pieces of lettuce in my tank?

if so, how do i get it to sink? also, what other vegetables

i tried pinning a small piece of lettuce in between two stones, can my red-tail shark bite into a lettuce shred?

just wondering, all i've ever put in the tank is the tropical flakes, but now i am getting higher priced fish, and i want to upgrade the diet.

also, is plant matter going to place a strain on my cycle?

don't know what i'd do without this site.

thanks in advance, you all rock

I get plant sinkers from petstore and clip it to my letteus. They've tons of them all over their tanks and glad to give a handful. You can also do the same with a thin slice of cucumber. As with cleaning, I clean my tank every couple of days. Uneaten plant matter is a mess and will affect your cycle.
