Well i have had my 55 gallon tank established for a week now and i just did my first set of tests and was shocked at the results.

Nitrite=oppm
Ammonia=0ppm
Nitrate=5.0ppm
Ph=7.2

Seems like i'm ready to add my rbps but i found these results odd because my tank hasn't been cycling soon. Should i be waiting for anything else before i add my rbps?

add a few frozen prawns and look for your ammonia to spike and all of your levels to return to normal again.
then do a large water change.
what are you using to cycle your tank.

how long did you say it was cycling for and did you use any old filter media, gravel, sand ect.. from an existing tank.

It has been cycling for a week. Bought playground sand cleaned it and put it in, used a brand new ac500, everything in there is new and not from another tank.

Just some things ....
Once all your parmeters hit zero then your cycled , plus the method you used, really does not compensate enough time for a tank to be cycled ...
But hey there your fish .....throw em in

wierd... because you have no ammonia after a week.... but you cant be cycled yet, the 5 ppm nitrates are probaly in your tap water

add approximately an inch of fishes for every inch of fish you will be housing there and wait a month
