I would go with a 40 breeder tank. But thats just me. A 30g will be fine aswell.

mine's in a 55 and he sits mostly... damn it.. i think ima switch him with my 3" rhom... its more active than the spilo.

I've got one in a 40 breeder, its a great sizetank and my 5" spilo is very active in it.
