I want to give it aclean record liek anew tank. its been dry for awhile. I wonder if there is anyway to treat a tank to give it a clean slate. I know bleach is not the answer. any other ideas

Miotic acid to clean JUST the tank, or a salt paste will do the trick. You can clean the rocks and deco with salt as well.

I'm with 2P.
Hot water and scrubbing.

Bleach needs to be no where near an aquarium.
