I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this but I'm wondering how a tank with a serrasalmus would be cleaned. I know they can be more aggressive than redbelly piranhas so I'm curious if you guys take the fish out of the tank to clean or not.

Much like RBP, I have always just cleaned with a gravel vac / magnetic glass cleaner for the bulk of it... Also have never really had problems putting a full arm in the tank with my big rhom, and especially any smaller ones. If its a super aggro fish, you use a divider and clean the tank in sections.

Catching and moving a fish out of water is far more dangerous and stress.

I've got no experience with rhoms, but I clean my pygos tank 1 or 2 times a week, I use a gravel vac and go shoulder deep in the tank to move decor and rake sand every time with no issues. Maybe I'm just lucky but I keep a close eye on them and mostly they just go hide in the plants until I go away.
