Why on earth anyone can say ray can live with piranhas in home aquarium?...WTF is wrong w/ this dude??? ..........I was at a LFS yesterday...a couple of guys from NJ asked if he could add a ray to with his piranhas....this idiot(LFS) said it can be done if he has sand bottom....I couldn't help but to jump in and said "HIGHLY UNSUGGESTIVE, THE RAY WILL BE GONE JUST LIKE THAT (snapped my fingers) ".......the 2 guys from NJ decided not to buy the ray...thank god...

Most LFS employees aren't educated about the fish they sell and have little to no knowledge of most species. I have a strong feeling that most LFS these days are more about moving inventory and making money than helping their customers.

thats why all these LFS's are so successful. they move everything they have...and who knows maybe that guy at the store knew you couldn't add a ray with your piranha's but he just wanted to make the sale, because after all, that is what he gets payed for.

They are from the same river, but in a tank, the ray is confined in a small space and there's no room for it to escape.

Don I know you're being facetious but a shark's prey also comes from the same waters as it does simply by nature of it being it's prey. Doesn't mean it can be put in an aquarium together

Do you know everything about every fish in the fish store?
I know I don't, I only know things about piranhas and a few other fish. For any person or LFS employee, it is highly unlikely they know everything about every single fish.

Currently, I do not believe there is a LFS employee 101 class being held at the local University.

Next time, do the mature thing and just mention to the customer that you own p's and that mixing a ray with a piranha tank would be a very expensive meal instead of reposting stupid LFS employees.

one of the guys at the lfs here said multiple elongs would get along just fine...yet they had 2 with a seperator , i know they are doing nothing but trying to push product, but i just feel bad for the people who dont know any better
