I am thinking about getting another tank.I want to get some 1"-2" rbp's.I was just curious if and when they will shoal,or do they not always do this...and does it depend on how many you get or how long they are together?My (3)6"-7" hang around together sometimes,but other times they do their own thing.

They will but it usually tends to be a looser shoal I find when they are younger..

Small or big they will shoal depending of their temp!

I have always found that the little ones dont shoal as well as larger reds. I think this has to do with the amount of cannibalism found in smaller p's, but this is all speculation.

yep they will probably do their own thing more when smaller and a lot of chasing imo and shoal easier when they but on size

Being Pygos, they will eventually shoal. My big RBs and frys (yepps even the frys) all shoal together, but most of the time they go about their own ways until they know its close to feeding time.

i had a 90gal with 4" reds. they shoaled 24/7. they were cool. then i sold them and bought a bigger tank and bigger fish.

mine didn't shoal when dime sized but now that they are all 7-8inches they shoal
