i noticed that one of my rbp's has a small 1/4" cut near it's tail, i think it has been there for awhile because he hasn't been attacked by it's tankmates ever and it has never bled at all.. do they heal pretty quick? should i just let him heal up over time or what?

They will heal real fast w/out any medicine. I had a RB bite another RB in the head leaving the bitten RB with a semi-half circle missing from the head. All it took was 1.5 week for them to grow everything back. Also, if you want to have it heal faster and prevent infection you may want to add salt. 1 teaspoon per 5 gallon =)

In two weeks or so, he will be healed back to normal. No worries.

Tails are a great source of protein for piranha in the wild which is why you may see bites and nips hear and there out of your reds tail...no worries they grow back very quickly...its just in their nature.
