You will be able to rate posts based on quality and thoughful information. The people with high ratings will have the most "expert points", therefor fixing the problem of people looking at the skulls as the only means of determining who is the "expert" fish keepers.

Now who would be determining there educational value??! What might be educational to one person might not necessarily be educational to another. To say whether or not a persons post is educational or not is purely based on opinion. Granted some posts are obvious to their 'educational value,' like posts that have just smilies and stuff like that. However, the point Im trying to make is that, is it really a necessity to see who posts more 'educational' posts and who doesnt?!

Yeah, but you know in the end if people want to 'seem' educational by their posts all they have to do is rate themselves and have their friends do so too.

I think it would be good for new people to see whom is more experienced when taking advice.
Perhaps you should limit the voting to the mods and admin though

how about just checking a post that is useful. Instead of having a rated post that would eventually end in the post whores resorting to downvoting, you would get bonus points of have a different column for a quality post. Its either a quality post or it isnt though, no rating.

Again with my point earlier--who's to say whats quality and whats not. Your basing it soley on opinion, which isnt very liable.

mods need to be the only ones who can vote. that way people cant create multiple accounts and vote for themselves.

if you do switch though please leave the post count skulls. have two columns of skulls......one of post count skulls and the other of quality of post skulls. Or just have one column and have like pics of piranhas or gold skulls( for quality of posts) along with the gray, red, green, yellow, etc.

I think the mods and X have a good idea who know what they are talking about vs. those who are learning. I think they should just give people a rank based on their observations, however, I think that has already been done.
