I am going to convert my tank to a sand bottom and my understanding is is that it is good at holding plants down. My question is is what kinds of plants besides the obvious amazon sword are good with P's. I am really looking for something that is kinda like an underwater cactus. Any suggesstions on what kinda of plants I can have that are short stocky strong and dont require alot of light. Thanks for your help.

The most suitable plants for a piranha tank are java fern, java moss and anubias, since they do great in low-light conditions.
Other plants you might try are vallisneria or crypto's, but my reds seemed to have developed a taste for those plants, so I gave up on them...

I stick with sword plants. the lighting requirement is a little more than others, but at least my p's dont eat on em too much
