Does anyone know how to tape off of sat to vcr. I tryed and all i can get is the the t.v. but not the sat. Sat is on line 1 and vcr is on line 2 how do i get the vcr to tape off of the sat?

you need to see satilite on your video channel - once you can watch sattelite on your video channel it should be ready - I think!

The easiest way is to run your Sat. through your VCR.

yep, satelite output has to connect to your vcr input and then vcr outputs to you tv. That is the only way unless you are pluged into a reciever.

That's assuming that your VCR goes up to whatever channel you're recording. Some VCR's only have like 120 channels.

Whoa then, I dunno. I run my dish though my reciever and also the vcr run through the reciever. No need for channels on the vcr in that situation. I always thought that the vcr's only needed to be on a certain "video mode" setting to record anything that is pluged into the vcr input unless its cable tv. I could be wrong though.

you should be able to tune your video on 1 channel - here in the UK it is 36, not on the video remote, but on the tuning bit - and on that setting you should be able to change the sattalite channel without changing the VCR channel or the TV channel - once it is set like this, you should be able to record.
or use a scart lead for ease.

Can't find the remote for vcr to change the channel on it. It's on channel 2 so it records channel 2 on cable but not the sat which is line 1 and there's no button on the vcr to channel vcr channel to i'm screwed unless i find the remote.

Sattelite output to VCR input. VCR out to tv in. VCR channel ability doesn't matter. Tune the Sattelite to whatever channel you desire, then press record on the VCR. TV should be set to channel 3 or 4.

on my vcr it has out to tv plug and in from attenna plug and the same on the sattelite. no vcr output or sattelite output unless that's the out to t.v plug.

you need to play the sat thru the vcr into the tv. it's like recording off cable. the cable goes thru the vcr to the tv. if your satellite doesn't hook up to the vcr you can't record it.
