HOw about a mandatory form for all topic starters in the buy and sell

mandatory fields

email
location
name
price
what is for sale or wanted to buy
and description

that way we wont have to ask for those, too many people dont follow the rules

umm just one thing might mean something to different people, but when posting a price say what currency it is, like us,canadan, pounds, ?

If this form is created in html, than it is no problem

Xenon, I dont know if it would work but we could make it like my email form on my web page, it requires certain fields be filled in to submit it, then you would just need to make it post in the forum instead of emailing it

Its a good idea, we inforced it on our site, but we has a sticky and said the rules of selling, any one who didnt list all of the following in there post, we deleted.

I don't think it's too difficult, we've toyed with the idea in the past but haven't gone so far as to implement it yet. You'd need a couple different forms, depending on what the intention of the poster is. Though in the end it could lighten the load on the staff, assuming it's done properly.

xenon... templates - > hit the drop down box on... "thread_view" (taking a shot in the dark here lol) then there should be something like "new_post_parse" (another shot in the dark) you would add it there.. uno problemo though... it would come along with every new thread, i have some code you could use to designate it to a singular forum, but its not for release yet...........

If you use my code/hack its going to make sure you know its my hack; under there sig you get, "this forum is using the field hack by solenine/Drew Poland" (just the topic starter though)
