Slow. Depending on who you talk to 1" or so a year, some say more some say less, depends on the fish and the conditions it's kept in. There are a number of 12"+ specimines around.

They grow quite slow, about an inch a year. Its prolly better to get them big.

How big is it now? Frequent water changes and a healthy diet may increase the growth rate some, but they do grow slow and live a long time.
