I just got a 4-5 inch rhom today. I just got him acclimated to my tank. He should love it considering the lfs's water was super high in nitrates. My water is better!!! I was wondering how i should measure for tl? Also he is in a 20 gallon tall. How long can I keep him in there? His eyes have not yet changed to red either...but it will be sweet when they do!

He should be fine in the 20 for a while, but I would look at getting a 55. The small serras I have had are much more active in a larger tank.

Your 20 gal is sufficient for now. It'd be better if it was a 20 gal long, not tall.. but it'll still do. Plus you'll have enough time to get a bigger tank in a couple of months. Both my Rhoms are in a 30 gal show.. one at 5" the other an 8"., and no complaints.

Are you guys sure he will be ok in a 20high for now? It seems like he doesn't have much room. maybe i should take out some of those fake plants. Or I could put him in my 55g rbp tank with the five 3 inchers in there....

20 High is not very good because it's not very long as you can tell. But don't put him in with your reds!!!!!

the 20 is better than sacraficing your reds. A double stack of 55's would be nice.
