I have my 8 inch rhom and 5 inch midas in tanks side by side. When I remove the paper that separates them they will attack each other through the glass. I know that if the midas thinks he has to compete to be the dominate one it will help to grow a hump. But does it or could it help my rhom to grow bigger or more agressive in any way? or is it just uneeded stress?

Ps first post on this board, thanks in advance

Im not suprised at all and im not complaining that they do.It is cool to see the rhom sit at the far end of the tank and when the midas turns his back he quickly goes for the sneek attack.
At least hes not one of the rhoms that just sits in one place all the time or untill the lights go off.

First of all.. "WELCOME ABOARD"!!!

Your Rhom has a born personality to be aggressive towards any other fish. But teasing him with another fish that you'll never let him play with, will just cause stress.

hmm.. maybe i should toss in a fish for him to "play with" every once in awhile, you know when i find something on sale that would make a good playmate( for a little while atleast)..
Thanks for the welcome
