Red Bellied Piranha's are of the Pygocentrus Genus
and Rhom's are of the Serrasalmus Genus

using gentic engineering i believe it would be possible, to put the gene for red bellied ness into a rhom, but would involve money time and experience... what wud b the point

There are a number of young sub-adult rhoms that I've seen with red bellies, however this always seems to fade with age and aside from the red gill plate and partial red belly, they still have rhom shape and body features.

If you are looking for a rhom with a red belly, you should look into a fish reffered to as either "Ruby Red Spilo" "Spilo CF" "S.Sanchezi" "Red Throat Piranha" as they are all the same fish and are basically rhoms with red throats.
