I am VERY into this fish (red asian arowanas). But I cannot find a place to purchase them so last week I bought 2 south american silvers temporarly.

My 2 main questions:

1) are asian arowanas legal in the U.S.? I have conflicting reports some says yes and others say no, some says with the microchip insertion and certificate yes, so what gives or who will be able to tell me the straight forward answer?

2) where can i buy one? I been doing searches on google.com and emailed about a dozen online fish shops with no sucess, there are 2-3 places in asia that will sell but you have to buy a minimum of $10,000 (not including shipping or paperwork), i dont want to spend that much nor do I need this much, but if there is a market for it and if i can make a profit, i will consider...

I heard that a baby red can cost $1000-2000 a peice, so depending how many i get and how much i can markup i might actually make money or get mine free. But is there a market in the U.S. for them?

ANY opinions are welcomed...

Asian Aro's are endangered and illegal. You will go directly to jail, you don't pass GO and you don't collect 200.00 dollars.

There was a big bust a couple of years ago and allot of people went to jail for this. So good luck finding one and if you do it might just be a green aro. I could get them but I'm smart enough not to touch them. I like my virgin ass and I refuse to go to jail over a fish.
