3 of my p's have the gotee calus from bumpin into the glass on their new BIGGER aquarium, will these go away without my snippin em off, i read a post somewhere thatsomeone got fingernail clippers and snipped their p's. If they will go away will salt help, and how long will it take? Thanks

Depends.. It may disappear in time or may forever stay. There are so many other causes that create this problem. One (as you've mentioned) is needing a bigger tank.. being chased by others and having that P slam into the glass continiously because of it.. and some just like like rubbing against the glass on their own will. But regardless, "shaving" the chin should always be the last resort. Taking out the P, trying to hold it down, keeping it out of water for some time, and cutting off the bump is an invitation to many disease and infection.. not to mention stressing it out. Unless you value your fish to not go through that stressfull process, then the salt treatments are always more than effective and can help that bump disappeacr in time.

Rhomzilla, if a P has stopped rubbing/bumping the glass are you saying salt should help reduce the chin bump? My Rhom has stopped bumping but has a nasty chin bump. I agree about the cutting off, wouldn't fancy doing it myself.

Yes if not too late. Most chin bumps are injuries which have open wounds (or sores) close to the ends. Salt treatments should help decrease the inflamation on the chin and close it up if treated early. Unless you've purchased a P which already had a chin bump that has healed in time, your only other option would be shaving it off.

I was thinking about shaving off the bump on my Rhom's chin... But then I realized this would include me taking a very powerful and angery rhom out his tank and figured that in the end it would not be me shaving his chin but rather him shaving off some of my fingers.
