Cow Heart 69 cents a pound. This seems like a really good deal. What is everyone else paying for cow heart?

A lot of people do, but its normally called beefheart. My LFS sells it also.

Oh Well then lets get the termanology correct then ...

Beefheart , i feed them to my p's all the time ...I also get it from the lfs in frozen cubes , rather expensive ...120 cubes for 6.99

A while ago.
Ohh yeah. I forgot to mention. The 69 cents a pound is Trimmed with the lining removed and everything. So you just cut to the size you want. IT's a really good deal considering most places charges a couple bucks a lb and it's not trimmed meaning 30% of it's waste

I once bought half a horse heart (three quarters of a kilo) for just 2 bucks, but my reds didn't like it.
So I ended up with a freezer full of organs that no one wanted (sliced and diced into 2x2x2cm. cubes by hand, I might add...), and a house that stank like a freakin' slaughter house

Never again, that's for sure...

Ive tried to feed my Ps beef heart once but they didnt really care for it.

I threw the first cube in and every fish in my tank went berserk trying to eat as much as they could as fast as possible. I have to admire the little guys. The piranha's are very very tiny still. I will be getting a bunch a larger tanks soon and plenty of Macs to grow out in there. I'm sure this won't be the last time I spend over 2 hours cutting Cow Hearts up into cubes and freezing it. I have tons of freezer baggies full of perfectly cut beef heart. Yummy

i have got mine anywhere from 59cent to 75 cent a lb. sounds good. my irritans especially love beef heart
