I have a 55 gallon tank with some baby red belly piranhas. Should I put a powerhead in with them? It says it's a 170GPH. The biggest is about one inch right now. Another question is my plants look like crap. What can I do about that? Thanks for the help.

i had my powerhead in with my baby rbp's (not babies anymore)
but it is a good idea because it will make them stronger and they will probably grow a bit faster too.. but it is very common that babies get sucked into the input of the powerhead. this is what happened to me and it died. you can try to avoid this by putting a peaice of sponge there so they cannot get sucked in.

Your plants...saying they look like crap could mean alot of things....it could be our lighting, substrate, not enough nutrients ect....
you need to be more specific with that

Hope this helps.

State how much wattage you have, if you are using any fertilizer, and what type of substrate, this can help the people in this forum know what might be the problem with your dying plants.
Usually the main problem is not enough wattage and no fertilizer.
