I bought a varnish some guy at Home Depot told me would do fine and ive applied 7 coats so far. I was woundering if anyone has made a similar tank and has any input??

i was told to use marine paint . the stuff you us for boats.

theres been a few guys that have done a diy plywood tank here, cretinhop, i think

its spelled did a pretty good thread one his, showed everything he use to make the tanks

some people use epoxy with a very ver thin coat of fiber glass resin... or u can use snow roof which is a lot cheaper and comes in larger amounts.

i went to home depot and the guy said varnish..... so thats whats on there now... But i was thinking of the fiber glass resin to coat it.... here are some pics

there is a lot more work that is needed to be done..... but thats just a lil bit so far.

www.cichlid-forum.com has a few really good diy plywood tank articles. sure varnish will "waterproof" the wood, but it wont hold water and im sure it will be toxic to the fish. use some good marine epoxy..
