Just recently in the past few days i put my piece of drift wood in my 75 gallon tank to let it try to sink. As it was sitting in the water is got a whole lot of white cloudy substance on it.. has anyone ever heard of this kind of thing happening. any help would be much appreciateed.

as the driftwood piece was in there i noticed one of my red bellys have a clouded eye and didnt look very healthy. would the water ph level have something to do with this

Its probably your paramters , Nitrite and Nitrate , I wold do a water change and add salt , Bring the temp up alittle to , to about 82F, It should go away in a few days ...
It is caused from stress and poor water conditions .

What size tank ya got ? and how many inhabitants

ps - its got white tiny particles or spots all over him,,,almost like water bubbles..
