My Reds loved goldfish flakes when they were still small - once they got older they lost interest, however.

And don't worry about your piranha's liking flakes more than live fish. Live food should be fed only occasionally in the first place, as it's not very nutricious, and worse still, it can introduce diseases and parasites into your tank.
Most important is a varied diet - one that includes all sorts of prepared foods (fish fillet, whole fish like smelt, shrimp, krill, mussels, squid, earth worms, blood worms, meal worms, mosquito larvae, tubifex, etc. etc.), as well as an occasional live feeder as a treat (no more than once or twice per month, though, and you can decide to do without it alltogether - your fish won't miss it).

Oh, and those feeders will be gone one day - trust me!
