Piranha and high PH? Is it a big deal?

664 Views 3 Replies 4 Participants Last post by  uhjkool
I've been interested in starting a piranha tank. Only issue that's stopping me is my water here is 8.2-8.4 it is quite high...

Would this high PH be troublesome for Rhom? Red Bellies? Caribe?

I’m curious to know if PH is a huge deal with piranhas as well. All of the best to you
A stable pH is more important than a low one. If you are breeding you may want to slowly lower your pH but otherwise, I wouldn't worry about it.
I agree with Trigga. I have 8+ PH and have successfully bred red belly piranha at home.
