Ok, this is what I read in my handy-dandy aquarium fish encyclopedia (so take it with a grain of salt
):
It reaches about 8" in length, is widespread in S. America (from the Amazon range down to northern Argentina), they are voracious carnivores that require a large tank and good filtration, and prefers a heavily planted tank (like it's natural habitat).

Oh, and imo they look very cool :cool:
