I currently have 7 ps in a 150 gal. 2 supers, 2 reds, 2 caribe and 1 piraya all about 4 in. I came home tonight and they looked to be breathing quite heavily. The air pump i am using is for a 60 gal tank but it creates a lot of bubbles. so i dont no if its their normal behavior or lack of oxygen?

for me to give u my advice pls answere these questions-

how long have ur Ps been in there?

what is your filtration?do u use any powerheads/if so whats the GPH?

when did u do that last water change?

what did u feed your Ps before u left?

if u are using an air wand that should help on oxegen, i myself dont use any wair wannds/pumps and my Ps have enough oxegen thru the water flow from my filters /powerheads.....

I set my tank up 2 weeks ago, and i am running 2 magnum 350 filters. i mostly feed them shrimp, and on occasion hikari pellets.

From the information you provided, it seem to me that your tank is still going through it's cycle.
If that's the case, than there really isn't much you can do about it but pray that your p's survive it. They will most likely survive the cycle, but it's just not a good idea to put them through that. It can create long term side effects.

Please let us know what your water parameters are.

getting a new tank is tempting, but u honestly need to cycle ur tank before u put water in.. its harsh not too....
Never heard of a WATERLESS cycle, j/k.

If you can take the fish back to wherever you got them, do it, and cycle your tank. If you can't, buy BIO-SPIRA now, fishstoretn.com or check with your local pet stores.
