If you were to buy a 180 gallon tank only for piranha's would you rather have a 72 x 18 x 31 or a 72 x 24 x 25?

I rather have more deep/width than height. Most Ps that I've ever own never really cared to swim to the top of the tank or along the top. Also as age goes for Ps, they do tend to get wider and need that extra width to make easy turns especially when trying to catch prey. Imagine ten 9" Pygos trying to move out of each others way by having to swim over and under the other instead of just passing each other by.

Looks like i'll go with the wide then :biggrin:

I am going to start out with a 65 gallon tomorrow, but i have a feeling i will outgrow that one rather fast.

I would also say wider is better but I have to disagree with some members since ALL my P's are very active ALL over the tank even staying alot near the top
