hey i know this pic is poor but you can get the jist of it..

he basically has a whole in is tummy where one of the larger fish bit him....

i feed him and stuff came out a while later... i'm no fish Dr. but, it was either food,poo,or his intestine.............

can any one offer insight ? i am unfamiliar whith the anatomy of Piranhas....

Odds for survival....?????

Treatment?? i gave melafix........should i put him down?

wow, if you haven't already... separate him from the other piranhas and get him out of the tank. If not he will be the weakest one and the others will know it and he will most likely not survive!!

GOOD, as long as his intestines are not glopping out or anything like that.. I do believe he will have a good rate at survival. I am assuming he is swimming around normal?? Just make sure you have great water parameters and add meds and do water changes, I think he will heal within due time!

I'd add some salt, about 1 tablespoon per 5 gallons of water, raise the temperature to about 84F, and then just let him be - no bright light, no interference from outside. In other words, offer him a quiet, stress-free environment, and let nature take its course: I think he could heal again, if nothing vital has been destroyed... The fact that he's still eating is a good sign.
