Why not use feeders? Many people use them, and many don't. Though it might give them a distraction while you get your new tank set up. I assume you're planning on kick-starting the cycle process?

one RBP in a 33G isn't exactly waht i would call cramped... I know you would like a bigger tank but you have nothing to worry about...unless you mean your adding the 7" in with it...still then thats not too bad as long as they do not attack each other ... I mean you said your getting a 125G .. there will be plenty of room in there :D

yeah he will be fine in a 33 for a while the only down fall is the tank is not the wide really but will work for now. Dont fed him feeders if u can avoid it, use beefheart, salad shrimp, krill, smelt, chicken, but try to avoid feedeers.

Take them both out and rearrange the tank if you did not when you added him. Lower the temp to 76-78, this will slow them down a bit and usually makes them less aggressive, and go out and find another red to even out the aggression. Right now all he can take his anger out on is the one red and that is not good. You are going to get more sooner or later so you may as well add another now.
The other option is to get a divider and separate the 2. Doesn't need to be anything fancy, you can get egg crate at a hardware store for almost nothing.
good luck!

to help your new tank cycle you could add some gravel from your 33 gallon tank, some goldfish and an old filter.
