I couldn't agree more.it can be hooked up to an undergravel i dont do that personally i think p's are to messy for undergravel filtration and i use sand
Years ago I had an undergravel filter in my pygo tank... and as you can imagine, the buildup under the plates was astronomical.
I could never get the nitrate level down... even with weekly 50% water changes.
I took out the plates (Huge pain in the ass... required draining the tank, removing everything...)
But my nitrate level was able to be kept in check ever since.
I like a powerhead operating for a little time each day... preferably in the morning, set to a timer.
