I'm not putting it in my flowerhorn tank, no. It's too light in colour and I have black gravel in there. (Soon to be black tahitian moon sand once I find a place that carries it locally.)

This rock is definitely better than lava rock - or tuffa rock, which is what the white version is. I find it's sturdier. It would also be great for an African cichlid tank, as I've read, since it's limestone based and will help with the water chemistry much the same way that driftwood does with South American tanks.

Like I said... It was an impulse buy. No idea where I'll be using it.

I might be picking up a new 50 gallon Oceanic today. But unfortunately that will be earmarked for saltwater and I'll be buying live rock to go in there instead.
