LPS was quoting about $170 for a 40 gallon glass with an Eclipse hood with the filter, bio wheel, etc

I was also talking to Xenon who said that some people have got 2 Ps to live together with some success?

I was figuring on taking the risk?

if space is really such a huge issue and you absolutely cant go for a 55, you may try a 40-45 wide. they have the same look and give your p's plenty of room to move around (should they decide not to be friendly)

true..in some cases those are even better than 55 gallons.

What is the general thinking on Marinelands Instant Stuff?

Claims I can dump them in in 24 hours without cycling for a long time

your best bet would be not to look for the "easy set ups" or boxed tanks, those are usually crap. just go get an aquarium with a hood and lights/heaters/gravel/then use water from your 12 for bacteria...

No they actually dont want to sell my high end stuff there, nor do they care since I dont think they are on commission

What can I get that has a NICE hood with everything integrated? I don't want to piece together 10 different things and I want dead quiet

Well tell me what prices should be at most LPS?

Like 40 gallon glass tank - X dollars

Good heater - X dollars

Filter system - X dollars

Hood - X dollars

etc

good heater = won bros, I get mine for about 25
hood about 30 for glass lids
fitler depends on what you get but under 60 for smaller tanks
40g I havent checked prices lately but around 70 I think
