the fake plants in my pygo tanks take the worst beating. the fish prune off leaves and stems with their sharp little teeth. not only do i get floating plastic leaves on the surface, the plants eventually begin to look ghetto. are they just adjusting them to the length they like or do they just get off on ruining the lame over-priced fake plants i buy? my pygos don't dig or burrow or anything cute and productive like that; they just annihilate plants!

dont worry man i have the same problem ....i have fake and real plants in my tank....first it was the real plants ....now they are done with those and jst nipping away the leaves of my fake plants....the top of my tank is always green now haha

I also am wondering why they would do this? i feed them on a good schedule.....maybe its the light?

i guess it can't be hunger. after all, they aren't swallowing them, real or fake. maybe fake plants are nature's toothbrush for p's or do them some other service in the wild.

My p's did that too. I constantly had to fish plastic leaves off the top of my tank.

Think you just get to get use to it Dutch ! I am getting plant remains out of both my tanks most days. dam annoying but a way of life !

I`ve that problem also. Sometimes I have to buy new plants.
I don`t like fake plants, you see.

Yes this is natural behaviour for Ps. They will prune plants regularly if they have this in their habitat.
