My new idea is creating something like the booklets you get free with fish medicines - where it has a bit about what commen symptems might mean, eg. suger grains = white spot, and big puffy eyes = popeye.
also we should have a pic of a piranha pointing out which part is which, eg. caudal fin, pectoral fin and anal fin, etc.
I also think a chart for working out tank volume by the tank dimentions would be a good idea

yes that is the idea - but you missed the Caudal peduncle where the Caudal fin meets the fish's body, also on some fish - but not that piranha - their is a pelvic or ventral fin

Well, this fish is my largest red, and he has one of his ventrals bitten off when he was young... I guess I photographed his bad side for once

And the Caudal peduncle can be added: no probs, once my computer stops dicking with me

yeah, Nate the caudal fin = tail
where is your pelvic or ventral fin?
and you didn't mark the caudal peduncle, but apart from that it looks good - better than I can do.

I think that both are good, but Jonas shows the lateral line better than Nates

however Nates has the pelvic or ventral fin showing, and marked.

Not a problem, I'm going to be doing a test in Pirana Science which will include naming the actual parts in scientific names instead of mix-matched scientific terms as seen above.

As for the photos, it is not aimed at one person, you all have mistakes in your images. Some more than others.
