I have a 4 inch rhom that I've had since January. I thought he would never swim around when I first got him. Starting last month, he has been swimming around constantly. He is in a high traffic area and he has been getting used to people.

About three weeks ago, I put my finger up against the glass and he swam over real quick and tried to bite it through the glass. I was shocked.
Although, he hasn't done it since....until a few minutes ago. The past few days while I have been sitting by his tank, I have been placing the tip of my finger on the glass and moving it really slowly. He normally starts shaking and fluttering his fins. Well, today, he attacked my finger twice. It was pretty cool.

He has been getting more daring the past month and I am guessing that he will continue to do that.

Does anyone else have experience or comments to share about this?

I have a rhom that I got from Shark Aqua. about 2 monthes ago that is about 3 inches that is crazy. He has attacked a net while I was cleaning food out, he eats right in front of me and always follows me around the room. He chases my finger all around the tank from the outside.... Nothing like what I have read about small rhoms on here. Mine is totally wild.

My Elongatus hurls himself into the glass to get my finger, and he snaps repeatedly at me, though when my arm is in the tank he hasnt made an attempt at me yet.............................

he is fast enough I wouldnt have a prayer in getting outta the way though, so I keep a net between us at all times

I actually had some videos of this attacking behavior let me see if I can dig em up

He's in real good hands. He is my pride and joy. I actually was going to sell him about a month after I got him because he didn't move at all! But I decided to give the little guy a chance. I'm glad that I did! I just can't wait till he's bigger. So, they grow about an inch every two years right? I figure it will be a good 10 years before he gets huge. That will be great! I get much more gratification watching a fish grow up.

Sounds like you got a pretty unique Rhom. Most Rhoms are very skittish until they get larger. Like 10"+. Congrats with your killer Rhom
Yea cool deal. Maybe if it trys it again. Attack back, unless u got small hands. Try to scare it so it thinks you have a killer hand, and not a sour puss.
