Black gravel is a must and candy stripe you light bulb with elcetrical tape, alot of plants. That should do it but I prefer my rhom nice and shinny, he is a brilliant silver.

Dark tank equals dark fish. The lighter the tank the more a fish washs its color out. Also do not just feed him feeders feed him cut up pieces of fish or cichlids. A varied diet leads to better color.

In the wild...when in breeding mode, they will display a darker color too. :biggrin:
Turn off the lights and you'll have a darker Rhom.
Honestly, maturity and surroundings plays a huge factor in the color of your Rhom. Also different varieties of foods can help.
