I don't know much about plecos, the one in my tank has white blotches all over him, I have a heater guard so its not from that, is this normal? or is he sick and I should take him out so my P doesn't get whatever he has? Here's a pic.

I guess you should have posted it in the disease forum, but what the hell...

I don't know if this is normal coloration: I know pleco's will change color, to blend into their environment (for example: black gravel results in very dark, sometimes even pitchblack pleco's). My own pleco's have different colorations as well, changing from time to time. But yours has an odd coloration.
Is he behaving and eating normal?

Sorry, I can't help you...

btw: isn't this the pleco that you have beaten up by Flipper?

I don't know about being active, he usually just sits and sucks in one spot until my P bothers him, so I guess so. I throw in an algae wafer once every day or so, and they disappear, so I imagine he's eating them, ive never seen it though. And I have had him for about 3 weeks. Thanks, I was just worried for my P is all.

Judazz, I would have posted it in the disease forum, but I thought this was more appropriate, as its a pleco, not a piranha. and flipper doesn't bother this one too much, in the beginning he did, but he's chill now, which makes me

if it is still behaving as usual I would think that it is normal, usually if it was to have a desiese from the fish shop, you would have known all about it after 3 weeks.
sometimes fish change their colors as they change their mood, also I am surprised you don't see the pleco eating the algea wafer, but I wouldn't worry about it, plecos do very well off the natural algea and leftovers.

as for the larger plecos in fish shops, they are probbably stressed because small tanks or the large fish sharing a tank.
or they might not be commen plecos.

I got it from a pleco expert from another site, that its just trying to blend in with the gravel, so im not worried anymore, thanks for your input though.

Thanks for being so discreet
