i currently have 20 baby platys in my tank..and just bought 3... 1inch baby pirhanas last week..having no place to put them..i added my pirahnas with my baby platys...i thought my pirahnas would go after my baby platys, but they didnt..right now im not sure what to feed them.because they seem to be compatible with my platys, and wont eat my bloodworms..they only eat the flakes i feed my platy..i threw in a few little beef hearts..but none of them went after..(my baby platys actually went after them)..so im not sure if i should separate them from the platys...and what i should feed them since they are only 1 inch..plus..they dont seem to be soo aggressive around the baby platys...could they not have been pirahnas??maybe pacu's?even if they were pacu's ..arent pacu's also aggresive??

They're one inch, bareley a piranha yet. Teeth are not developed nor is their potential jaw power. At that size they eat what they can while looking out for their own lives.

Flake food will be fine. They also may remove tail peices from the platys. You might want to try brine shrimp and black worms as well.

yeah, i agree they are only 1 inch!
have patients, if u wanted vicious p's maybe putting a couple of bucks down more for bigger ones would have been the thing to do.
otherwise have patients and also have a lot of fun watching them grow up!

i've been looking everywhere for LFS..that would carry pirahnas.(around the twin cities.MN area).but no luck...since petco and petsmart dont have them...so i saw a pet store at a local mall..and found out they had pirahnas for sell..the person says they only get them once in awhile and all they get are quarter size or smaller ones..and yes it was label correctly cuz they had some pacus for sell in a dif tank..i bought mines for 7 buck each..was that normal price? i checked at another store..and theirs were even smaller..the size of baby guppies..those were on sell for 8 bucks each..

If they are one inch they will go after like comets but nothing to bigger than them just yet they might try to attack them just to see what happens they do have to learn to get aggresive, you can feed them brine shrimp and krill and tiny bits of beefheart and your set, vary the diet and as they grow upgrade your feeder in size and they will eat away.
