so far is swallowed everthing i threw in there from goldfish to flowerhorns bigger than itself, have you had any luck with beefheart, chicked heart/gizzard, raw beef, shrimp, and others? i would like to vary its diet to bring out the colors more, and its annoying to get feeders every couple days.

I don't know what you've tried to get him off feeders, but you can easily starve him for a while if you want to try to feed him something new. A number of days without food shouldn't be a problem to any healthy sub-adult or older piranha...

he ate some beefheart today, a good thing. he seems to nibble on some plants here and there, actually eating parts of it.
