could anyone tell me if there's a best time of day to feed a pygo shoal. they always seem hungrier in the evening. basically, i feed them morning and night, but i'll switch to night only if that's when they typically eat due to instinct or life in the wild.

They're more active at night. Feeding them at night is a good idea, but if they're hungry, they'll eat anytime. Just keep a regular feeding schedule.

it occurs to me that that's when all of my fin nips happen. at night. i bet that's why. i shouldn't be putting them to bed hungry. i'm going to feed at night and see if that makes everyone less crazy at night.

i used to feed in the morning before i left but i did not want the food to sit in the tank all day till i got home. i changed my feeding times to night time. they seem to be more active at night and i can take out the food after 20 min if they do not eat. this is also more enjoyable for me to watch my p's eat

i've switched to evening feeding and lowered my temp a few degrees and that seems to have assuaged the fin nipping problem.

I feed my guys at like 10pm at night cause thats when I get home from work. Sometimes I feed them early on weekends, but it doesn't seem to make any difference. They eat when fed..... after they are done fighting... my guys fight at meal time until the alpha eats. The alpha also lashes out at anyone who comes too close to him.

I fed them every other day once a day at night. Occasionally during the day. They were much more active with the lights on, when the lights went off they chilled.
